The Montreal Biosphere, designed by Buckminster Fuller for Expo 67, remains a striking example of sustainable design. 

The 76-meter-wide geodesic dome, made of interlocking steel triangles, reflects Fuller’s vision of efficiency and harmony between technology and nature. 

Originally covered in acrylic panels destroyed in a 1976 fire, the now-exposed structure reveals the transparency and geometric beauty of its design. 

A centerpiece of the Expo that welcomed 5.3 million visitors, the Biosphere now serves as an environmental museum, continuing Fuller’s pioneering legacy in ecological architecture.
