Activists Block Alleged Arms Shipment From Manchester to Israel Activists have intercepted a shipment heading from the UK to Israel by sitting on the roof of a lorry. As the shipment was leaving the depot in Manchester bound for Ashdod, southern Israel, an activist dressed as a security guard distracted the lorry’s driver and another climbed onto the vehicle. The entire DSV Transport depot was forced shut and the two shipments, believed to be carrying weapons, were unable to leave. Danish-owned DSV have transported arms for Israeli arms company Elbit systems and its British subsidiary UAV Tactical since previous transporters Kuehne+Nagel dropped them. Elbit produce over 85% of Israel’s killer drones and land-based military equipment, with DSV allegedly moving weapons from their British factories, for transport to Ashdod, on a weekly basis. Whilst on top of the lorry, one of the activists from the group People Against Genocide, said: “DSV, how many more dead kids, adults, babies? How many more people made homeless? How many more arms and legs lost? How many more lives ruined? These are the sorts of questions I could ask you. It’s worthless. You don’t care.” A spokesperson for People Against Genocide said: “There must be an end to Israeli weapons production in Britain, and we will use direct action to close down their facilities and to stop the transportation of their shipment. We will target all those who assist in the commission of genocide.” This week, Israel launched an attack on Iran that killed at least 185 schoolgirls and has separately bombed Syria and Lebanon. Palestinian civilians have been killed by the IDF in Gaza every day since the US-led supposed ceasefire was brokered. DSV has been contacted for comment. *Sophia Sheera is a journalist in Novara Media’s social media team.* https://novaramedia.com/2026/03/03/activists-block-alleged-arms-shipment-from-manchester-to-israel/
