Ben Delo, co-founder of BitMEX and recipient of a presidential pardon from Donald Trump, has pledged a significant charitable contribution to the London Institute for Mathematical Sciences (Lims). Delo has committed to donating up to £20 million, with an initial £10 million already disbursed. This donation is set to be matched, aiming to help Lims raise £60 million for its research initiatives. Delo previously pleaded guilty in 2022 to violating the U.S. Bank Secrecy Act by failing to implement anti-money laundering controls, for which he was fined $10 million before receiving a presidential pardon. He has publicly stated his intention to allocate at least half of his personal wealth to philanthropic causes.
