Their energy use is rising, as all devoloping nations do. If this chart went back far enough, I bet you would see a similar curve on US and EU. If China used about 50% more energy than they did in 2024 (end of chart) they would slightly exceed the US per capita energy usage.

I don't believe human released CO2 is the main driver of climate change either.
