According to the UK Maritime Trade Operations, a vessel was struck by an uncrewed surface vessel (USV) approximately 50 nautical miles north of Muscat, Oman. The impact was reported to be above the waterline; fires were brought under control, and the crew was safely evacuated ashore.

Shortly afterward, Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed it had struck and sunk the tanker Athena Nova. However, subsequent tracking indicated the vessel was anchored in the Fujairah Anchorage Zone off the east coast of the United Arab Emirates, contradicting the claim.
