Trump Open to Ground Troops in Iran, Dismisses Polls After Strikes

President Donald Trump has indicated he would not rule out deploying U.S. ground troops to Iran if "necessary," stating he is unconcerned about public opinion following Saturday's strikes. Trump asserted he acted correctly and believes most Americans support his actions, despite initial polls suggesting otherwise. He argued that the alternative of allowing "crazy people" to acquire nuclear weapons would have worse consequences than a regional conflict.

"I have no hesitation about sending ground troops. Unlike other presidents who always say, 'We will never send ground troops.' I don't say that. I say, 'They might not be needed,' or 'if it's necessary,'" Trump commented.

A Reuters/Ipsos poll conducted Saturday and Sunday revealed that only 27% of Americans approved of the strikes, with 43% opposing and 29% undecided.
