‍Magic Eden shifts focus to iGaming, discontinuing NFT marketplaces

Magic Eden, a prominent Solana-based NFT platform, announced a strategic business model pivot to the online gambling and iGaming sector. Co-founder Jack Lu confirmed the discontinuation of support for Ethereum (EVM), Bitcoin Ordinals, and Runes ecosystems by April 2026 to scale its on-chain casino and sportsbook, Dicey.

The company sees iGaming as a more sustainable revenue driver than the volatile NFT market. Dicey's closed beta generated over $15 million in wagers. Magic Eden will exclusively focus on NFT packs, mimicking physical trading card mechanics, while phasing out other NFT services.
