Today is rare disease day.

I have hope that the cost of high quality medical care and treatments is about to drop like a rock.

Not because politicians will actually fix our scam of a medical system, where incentives are misaligned and gatekeepers are everywhere. The cost will go down because of open source technology.

I hold on to hope that medical treatment is about to improve exponentially through AI. They will try to gatekeep OFC but the open source medicine movement will win in the end.

There's already at home pharm labs, open source, and buildable with off the shelf parts. One day people will download expensive patent medications like they were downloading a pirated movie, load it up into the neighborhood basement pharmacy, and get low cost medication.

Open source surgery robots, doctor AIs, etc. 

We can't rely on politicians to fix the scam that is the American medical system, so we simply route around the system entirely and drop the cost ourselves. 

The state and medical industry will fight this tech hard though, they make too much money on gatekeeping medical care, but they can't stop it.
