Ye Qing (Ren Zhuoxuan, 1896–1990) is one of the most dramatic and controversial figures in 20th-century Chinese political history. His original name was Ren Qizhang (or Ren Junzhang), with the courtesy name Zhuoxuan, and he was from Nanchong, Sichuan. He became widely known under his pen name “Ye Qing.”
