Do the two of us live in the same universe?

Because in the universe I live in, technology has been improving most of my life, but is now getting worse, and fast.
What used to be native apps are now written in Rust, including elements of operating systems.
Everything is becoming bloated, hardware has become more expensive (while hardware used to be the one thing that went against the trend of inflation).

Even development tools haven't been getting better, or have been getting worse. Most are shit compared to what Visual Studio was 10 years ago or so.

Oh, and if you are thinking about "AI", the most overhyped field of the decade, nothing that substantial has been happening for years now, after some genuine breakthroughs, except ruthless influencers polluting social media with it.

The cutting edge of technology is very neat text files and I'm not even kidding.
