May 2024, Army Reserve Lt. Samual Abu Al-Rikabi—a U.S. soldier born in Iraq—was pulled over for speeding near his base. During the traffic stop in Walker, Louisiana, he pointed a gun at Livingston Parish sheriff's deputies from inside his vehicle, leading them to shoot him multiple times.

On April 23, 2025, at about 2:36 p.m., Fairfax County police conducted a traffic stop near the Greenbriar Town Center in Fairfax, Virginia.  The driver was Jamal Wali, a 36‑year‑old man who had come to the U.S. around 2014 after serving as a translator and security contractor for U.S. forces in Afghanistan. Killed by cops.

Washington, D.C. (Nov 2025): Afghan national Rahmanullah Lakanwal, who worked with U.S. troops, shot at National Guard members during a patrol near the White House; he was wounded in return fire.
