Ethereum development is experiencing a significant acceleration due to advancements in Artificial Intelligence (AI), according to Vitalik Buterin. He highlighted a recent achievement where developers utilized agentic-coding to construct a prototype Ethereum client in just two weeks. This prototype, comprising approximately 700,000 lines of code and addressing 65 roadmap items, is capable of synchronizing with the mainnet. Buterin emphasized AI's potential to dramatically boost coding efficiency. However, he also stressed the importance of allocating some of these efficiency gains towards enhancing security. This includes generating more comprehensive test cases, implementing formal verification methods, and conducting cross-validation across multiple implementations. Looking ahead, Buterin anticipates that the Ethereum roadmap may be completed at a faster pace and achieve higher security standards. Nevertheless, he cautioned that extensive debugging and validation will still be necessary in the short term. #crypto #blockchain #news
