Ethereum Developers Debate Key Features for Upcoming "Hegota" Upgrade

Ethereum developers are currently deliberating on the primary execution layer (EL) features for the forthcoming "Hegota" upgrade. Discussions during the latest Ethereum All Core Developers Meeting (ACDE #231) focused on three main candidates: FRAME (EIP-8141), LUCID, and SSZ.

Sources indicate that due to a lack of community consensus, developers are considering the possibility of the Hegota upgrade solely incorporating consensus layer (CL) features, without a significant EL enhancement. Multiple client teams have expressed divergent views on the proposed solutions. A dedicated discussion on the FRAME proposal has been scheduled, with a final decision expected at the next ACDE meeting in two weeks.
