President Trump Orders Federal Agencies to Halt Use of Anthropic Technology

President Donald Trump has directed all federal government agencies to immediately cease utilizing technology developed by Anthropic. The directive states, "We do not need it, we do not want it, and we will do no more business with them!" For agencies such as the Department of War that currently employ Anthropic products, a six-month phase-out period will be implemented. President Trump warned Anthropic to "behave well" during this transition, stating he would use his full presidential authority to enforce compliance, which could result in significant civil and criminal consequences.

The Secretary of Defense has also issued a directive stating that any contractors, suppliers, or partners doing business with the U.S. military are prohibited from engaging in commercial activities with Anthropic, effective immediately.

According to Axios, a source indicated that key Senate defense leaders were privately urging Anthropic on Friday to resolve disputes with the Pentagon.
