xAI Co-Founder Toby Pohlen Departs, Marking Seventh Founder Exit in Three Years

Toby Pohlen, a co-founder of Elon Musk's artificial intelligence venture xAI, has announced his departure from the company. In a social media post on X, Pohlen stated, "Today is my last day at xAI," adding a lighthearted remark about the team's dedication to late nights and his personal plan to "catch up on over 8 hours of sleep."

This announcement comes as the fourth public departure of a xAI co-founder within the last three months. Since the company's inception in 2023, a total of seven out of its twelve founding members have confirmed their exits. Notable departures include former Google scientist Tony Wu, University of Toronto professor Jimmy Ba, and Groq founding member Greg Yang.
