AI-Engineered Peptides Advance Early Cancer Detection

Researchers from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Microsoft have developed a novel application of artificial intelligence to create molecular sensors for the early detection of cancer. This innovation leverages an AI model to design short proteins, known as peptides, which are specifically targeted by proteases—enzymes frequently overactive in cancer cells.
