I hear you. I'm thinking about buying a flip phone to be honest. If I ever absolutely need to use an app on an android device, then I think I will pop my SIM card back in for a short time to do the thing. I feel like that would be better than transmitting so much meta data to all these apps all the time. Compartmentalize it at least. Even that doesn't seem like the solution. I have stopped answers phone calls from unknown numbers. I click the "Text Call" feature to make them tell me why they are calling. 96% of the time it's a spam call and they don't say anything. I really only need text messaging, and in that case I should just use Signal, SimpleX, Keet, or White Noise. The only problem is that all the people I want to communicate with don't have these apps. I'm really tired of worrying about AI stealing my voice or likeness. Ready to go back to snail mail with wax stamps. I mean seriously... the only thing so urgent that it needs to be handled at the speed of light in my life is if I need 9-1-1 emergency medical assistance.
