US Senator Lummis Pushes Back Against SBF on "CLARITY Act," States it Would Lead to Longer Imprisonment

U.S. Senator Cynthia Lummis responded on X to Sam Bankman-Fried's (SBF) endorsement of the "CLARITY Act," asserting that the proposed legislation would result in his imprisonment for well over 25 years. Lummis emphasized that her proposed legislation is distinct from a bill that SBF attempted to circumvent congressional opposition for in 2022, stating, "We do not need nor do we want your support." Previously, SBF had hailed the "CLARITY Act" as a milestone for the crypto industry and a significant achievement for Donald Trump, claiming he had previously advocated for similar legislation to free the crypto sector from Gary Gensler's regulatory oversight.
