World Bank Group Arm Invests $40 Million in Malaysian Blockchain and AI Solutions

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – The International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, has announced a significant investment of 155.6 million Malaysian Ringgit (approximately $40 million USD) in Malaysian digital infrastructure provider Zetrix.

The investment is earmarked to accelerate the expansion of Zetrix's blockchain-based digital public infrastructure and Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions across Malaysia and the broader ASEAN region.

The initiative will focus on cross-industry applications including digital identity verification, digitized customs clearance processes, large language models, and stablecoin technology. These advancements are slated for integration with MyDigital ID and Malaysia's existing blockchain infrastructure, aiming to deliver secure and inclusive digital services.

This strategic funding underscores a growing commitment to leveraging decentralized technologies and AI for public sector modernization and economic development in Southeast Asia.
