ARIA provided research and development funding for the company. Founded by two Cambridge neuroscience PhDs, Callosum develops software designed to orchestrate AI workloads across a diverse range of chips, including those from Nvidia, AMD, AWS Trainium/Inferentia, Cerebras, and SambaNova. The platform emphasizes multi-cloud and multi-chip synergy. Callosum claims its system offers significant performance and cost advantages for complex enterprise tasks, reporting approximately double the accuracy, seven times the speed, and a four-fold reduction in costs compared to single-hardware solutions.
