I think Trump is angling to neuter the FED.  If tariff money & industrial growth continues ,  the corporate taxes & tariffs could very well fund the smaller Federal Gov't. When this happens, there's no longer a need to tax American citizens.  Taxes are to pay the FED's interest charge on every dollar in circulation, since we borrowed every penny. Trump even said as much in the SOTU speech. No Fed means corruption ends and we are no longer being enslaved by the policians borrowing, the FED printing and us being on the hook to pay the interest on the borrowing. No income tax is very much a possibility.
