‍FCA Selects Four Firms, Including Revolut, for UK Stablecoin Regulatory Sandbox

The UK's Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has chosen Revolut, Monee Financial Technologies, ReStabilise, and VVTX for a specialized stablecoin cohort in its Regulatory Sandbox. The firms will test the issuance and operation of stablecoins under proposed UK regulations, focusing on retail payments, wholesale settlement, and crypto trading.

Findings from these trials, commencing in Q1 2026, are expected to inform final stablecoin rules due later in 2026. While the FCA aims to foster trust in digital assets for payments, some industry leaders express concern that strict oversight could impact the UK's ambition to be a Web3 hub.
