UK FCA Selects Four Firms for Stablecoin Innovation Sandbox Testing

The UK's Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has announced the selection of four companies to participate in its regulatory sandbox, where they will test stablecoin innovation services under real-world conditions with safety guarantees. The chosen firms, selected from 20 applicants, are Monee Financial Technologies, ReStabilise, Revolut, and VVTX.

Testing is slated to commence in the first quarter of 2026, with a focus on applications such as stablecoin issuance, payments, wholesale settlement, and crypto trading.

Matthew Long, Director of Payments and Digital Assets at the FCA, stated that this initiative aims to build confidence in the use of stablecoins for payments and settlements. The outcomes of these tests are expected to directly inform the final UK stablecoin regulation rules, anticipated later in 2026.
