A Chinese national, identified as Duan Jianlei, also known as "Boss Duan," has been apprehended in Thailand on suspicion of operating a fraudulent cryptocurrency exchange platform. According to reports from the Thai media outlet Bangkok Post, Duan Jianlei allegedly established a fake trading platform named BHE Exchange and issued a fraudulent token called DDO. The platform purportedly promised investors an annual return of 6% and a 10-year price appreciation of 20 times before ceasing operations and absconding with funds. The investigation has revealed approximately 20,000 victims affected by this alleged scheme, with total losses estimated at 4 billion Thai Baht, equivalent to approximately $110 million USD. Thai authorities have reportedly revoked Duan Jianlei's visa and are proceeding with his extradition to China.
