Although I'll tag things as "permaculture", it's a fad term that I don't enjoy. A vast majority of the concepts that make up permaculture are old "tried and true" ways, and not new at all. The only innovation is combining some old techniques together for synergistic effects. If you've only learned about gardening from industrial methods, I guess these old ways seem like magic. A couple of years ago, Raven and I watched a video about a "game changer" for gardening that was supposed to boost yield and make food production very easy. When the host finally revealed this revolutionary concept, it was "planting in rows". We busted up laughing, and have been making fun of the phrase "game changer" ever since. For us now, it basically means "too retarded to understand history or nature".
