The efficiency of inductive charging is usually appalling, but with a billiard-table-smooth road and lowrider suspension it might be competitive with batteries. I've always been a fan of pantographs/trolley-poles, and overhead wires (even though they're so ugly). The efficiency just can't be beaten, and with active control of the conductor's positioning, high speeds should be achievable without sacrificing any other qualities. But at least China is experimenting :)
