I have to reiterate something after reading this report

'The representative of Grand Ayatollah Ali Sistani, in a meeting with Mohammad Kazem Al-Sadegh, the Iranian ambassador to Iraq, has conveyed a message to Tehran stating that in the event of any attack on the life of Ayatollah Khamenei in possible US attacks against Iran, the Shia religious authority in Iraq will issue a jihad order against the American forces stationed in the country.'

Grand Ayatollah Sistani declaring a Fatwah against the US and Israel means every Shia in the world would have a duty to kill any American/Israeli and possibly any other western country that helps Israel soldier, military personnel and could extend to citizens.

The US is betting that money ultimately matters than any religious authority and willing to test this, but this may be a big miscalculation and would turn the world into a very unsafe place for everyone.
