Despite two rounds of negotiations between Iran and the United States, with the Americans demanding an end to Tehran’s nuclear work and constraints on its long-range ballistic missile program and support for regional armed proxies, Iran has thus far rejected a sweeping arrangement and has offered only modest concessions on its nuclear program. The impasse, which U.S. officials increasingly say is unlikely to be broken, has raised the prospects of strikes against Iran, officials tell the Wall Street Journal.
