Yesterday's hike to Las Conchas and the old pumice mine. The pumice mine was seeded with ponderosas after one of the fires, maybe ten years ago, and the young trees are looking vibrantly healthy. From our pumice mine lunch spot we could see Redondo Peak, the largest resurgent dome in the Valles Caldera, and South Mountain, a smaller resurgent dome. Down by the creek there were thick stands of wildflowers.
