My favourite chickens.... quambies! A bred developed in Tasmania, Australia, not yet formally recognised, bred as a dual purpose for meat and egg production but as a backyard, heritage style chicken. 

I didn't realise how large the chickens are until I bought a bbq chicken from the shops the other day. Please write a comment if you are interested in learning more about them! We process our own roosters and hatch eggs using an incubator.  Happy to share processes, coop design (I'm all about systems that need little input), feed (no they are not completely free range - I love my garden too much!)
