As for setup: Clients can do many things. I want mine to provide a great default, I don't think it's BS. Not sure how NIP-85 fits there. I won't penalize the vast majority of my users for certain tweaks only power users want. My plan was to make it work via nostr:npub1dvmcpmefwtnn6dctsj3728n64xhrf06p9yude77echmrkgs5zmyqw33jdm like Relatr. Happy to support NIP-85 if it doesn't involve the setup. Check if user has the event and if so, query relay for trust checks. However, how can I get an equivalent of "reputable pubkeys who follow the developer"? I do appreciate the speed of reads since ranks are now cached. Scaling: not sure, seems like 90%+ of events will never be read. Imagine Nostr grows to a million genuine users (which is not a lot either), and just 50k people sign up for this WoT service. Is the provider going to have to calculate and store 50 billion events or am I taking crazy pills?
