Essenz Bahía Dorada, From the City to the Sand: The Sanctuary of the Gods: A Wellness Journey

Luis Felipe finishes his workday, exhausted. Like many men his age, he is the primary provider for his home. For him, the weekend represents an opportunity to break the routine and turn rest into an investment in health and well-being. The reservations are made; a magical and peaceful world awaits him at our new location.

**Teotepeque**, a coastal district now part of the Municipality of La Libertad Costa, provides the perfect setting for a spiritual and restful retreat. Just 20 minutes from Surf City, we find this place—whose name in Nahuat means **"The Hill of the Gods"**—a stunning tropical forest guarded by two great stone colossi. Deep within their embrace, they shelter a private beach of volcanic gray sand. The warm waters of the Pacific receive you with open arms, energizing every cell of your body to the rhythm of the waves, allowing you to find balance within your soul.

### A Vision Fifteen Years in the Making

It has taken fifteen years for this concept of Wellness—set in an exclusive, tropical paradise—to materialize. I remember those days in Playa Mujeres and the Riviera Maya that inspired me to seek excellence in our own version of "wellness-as-lodging." We didn’t want a hotel where the guest was just another number. We were convinced that we would not be a "clinic by the sea," but rather an unforgettable, personalized experience filled with love—where every corner, wall, and piece of art reflects a part of our essence.

**The Balsam Coast** was chosen to host this dream. Nothing is a coincidence when energy flows: the Balsam tree has been used in our country since ancient times to heal, soothe, and comfort the sick. How wonderful that these centennial trees are now part of our team and this beautiful mission.

### A Global Connection

Chiara, originally from Sicily, flies in from Italy. She grew up among waves, salt air, and tradition. She found us online and fell in love with these words, not to mention the opportunity to restore her body following spinal surgery performed in her homeland. She asked a thousand times about that "spectacular massage" at the foot of the cliffs—our beach colossi. I told her that this sensory experience features chill music, natural drinks, fresh cucumbers for the eyes, and the sound of the Southern Sea crashing against the shore. (I share a photo here, though it does little justice to such a beautiful moment).

The textures of volcanic sand, the salt, and the breeze are all part of a recharging treatment for every particle of your being. We can heal through natural environments; we must remember that true health attends to the **body, the soul, and the surroundings.**

It thrills me to offer you a part of my life—my successes and my setbacks—which now personify a holistic concept of Western medicine. Here, my specialization in **Functional Neurosurgery** blends with knowledge acquired in European and Anglo-Saxon medical schools, completed by my own heart and creativity.
