In a separate incident, Step Finance reported a significant security breach resulting in the loss of approximately $40 million. The hack occurred due to the compromise of an executive's devices. Following the detection of the vulnerability, Step Finance initiated an investigation with cybersecurity experts and relevant authorities, notifying law enforcement. Partial operations have been temporarily halted. The platform has managed to recover around $3.7 million in Remora assets and $1 million in other holdings. Liquidity provider activities for Remora Markets will resume once the system is fully secured.

Users are advised to temporarily refrain from using STEP tokens in light of the ongoing situation.
