Spot Gold and Silver Decline Sharply

Spot gold experienced a significant drop, falling $16 to $2,327 per ounce. Simultaneously, spot silver tumbled below $79 per ounce, declining 2.81% during the day. New York silver futures also breached the $79 mark, down 2.64% for the session.
