I meant that literally, not judgmentally: in Canada, it's common for school classes for small children to plant bean seeds in little pots of dirt so the kids can watch them sprout, or grow a potato in a jar of water -- like I am!

Because I already have hydroponic garden units with grow lights, I use the the pool of light around the gardens to try to grow other things in jars. 

Not much to boast about yet, I'm still learning, but it's fun!
