Joke but really funny, if you follow the environmental news on #nuclear 😆 In reality, radiation emissions from any coal-powered power plant are 100x higher per kWh produced due to fly ash release. Trace amounts of isotopes present in coal (and anything mined underground) multiplied by millions of ton actually make this number. What else releases isotopes? For example #geothermal — because half of the geothermal heat underground comes from radioactive decay, which has been long used for “radon spas” (with unproven health effects). Natural gas mining also releases radioactive isotopes as gas also contains radon. And then there’s rare earth metals mining used in all modern electronics, which always coexist with uranium etc. https://akkoma-media.obj.krvtz.net/akkoma-media/be66f1ffc29f59cebfd4afe981f68d0cacfb03c57cfefbc5ed90e252400a5131.file?name=uN0YO0ujdz_08A.file
