It wasn’t until after the night was over that I realized that many of the extended family members that are the most successful and live in places like NY or LA, I barely interacted with. Instead. I found myself chopping it up almost the whole night with the people I found most interesting from small towns like Silverton, CO and Libby, MT. The miners and carpenters were 100x more interesting than the lawyers and consultants.
